美国厕所的门缝，为什么特别特别大？！

这并不是个例

实际上，很多刚到美国的人

都会为公厕门上的东非大裂谷震惊到

这倒不是因为美国人在拉屎方面

有什么怪癖

关于这点，其实并没有什么权威解释

不过根据上知天文下知地理

在屎尿屁领域颇有造诣的为父的瞎猜推理

你上国内的公厕

基本都会见到这玩意

相当大一部分美国公厕隔间门上

没有任何“有人/无人”指示器

万一里面有人

打不开门尴尬、打开了更尴尬

更重要的是

美国公厕只有马桶没有蹲便！

而在使用马桶的时候

很多人也不会老老实实坐着

而是选择蹲在马桶圈上

至于美国为什么不像国内一样

每个隔间门都装一个指示器——

而在美国，只有部分公厕

（比如家庭用公厕和无障碍公厕）

被要求装上这个指示器

其他一般公厕

就全看人家舍不舍得掏钱了

而且

这些大缝也不仅是方便你观察！

还方便管理人员观察！

不要小瞧了这省下来的一点边边

要知道在美国

一扇公厕隔板门的价格

至少要几百美元

一方面，美国的这些公厕门

需要质量非常好

来应对公共厕所高强度的使用

和有意无意的破坏

所以选材就得比一般家用的更贵

另一方面，《美国残疾人法案》(ADA)

详细规定了公厕建造的各项标准

（不过门缝宽度的标准倒是没有）

所以业主要么加钱

请有资质的公司来建公厕

要么就要交罚款和诉讼费

又是一笔额外支出

最后

这么设计还有点心理学的门道——

根据研究，哺乳动物真正的拉屎时间

普遍只有12秒左右！

所以一般情况下

你在厕所里待的大部分时间

其实都被浪费掉了

而在美国，公厕资源更是紧张

不容你在里面随便待上个把小时

所以在门上留下一道大缝

大概率能让里面的人

感觉浑身不得劲

从而赶紧办完正事走人~

不同国家的习惯真的很不一样
