北京时间9月3日，犹他爵士官方宣布，球队已经裁掉马修-默雷尔。
这一公告发布仅两天前，爵士才与默雷尔签约，据推测这是一份Exhibit 10合同，这允许球队保留对其G联赛的签约权，同时若他能G联赛附属球队效力至少60天，便可获得最高9.1万美元的奖金。
上赛季，默雷尔共为盐湖城明星队出战44场，他场均出场28.0分钟能到10.8分。
