北京时间9月8日，金球奖官方公布了2026年男足金球奖的30人候选名单，C罗落选，这也是他连续第四年无缘金球奖候选名单。
2026年金球奖评选参考球员表现的周期为2025年8月3日至2026年7月19日，截止日为美加墨世界杯决赛。在这个周期中，C罗一共为利雅得胜利出场37次，打进30球送出4助攻。在国家队层面，他打进了8球。
C罗上一次入选金球奖候选名单还是2022年，他在那一年的榜单中最终排名第20位。
